Mr. Jay

I had cancer 12 years ago in my kidney. Now it is back and has metastasized to my brain and liver. It is a fight everyday. Thank you Warriors of Hope for helping me with my financial issues.

Thank you for the blessing.

Mr. Foret
Thank you Warriors of Hope for the financial assistance. It is greatly appreciated. The financial burden can get overwhelming along with fighting stomach ulcers and liver cancer. You are truly a blessing!! Thank you for being there.

Mrs. Harper
Thank you Warriors of Hope for helping me when I needed it the most. This has been the toughest battle I have had to fight.
God Bless, Mrs. Harper.

Ms. Shelby
I was diagnosed with cancer, which completely changed my life. Being sick most of the time from treatment and barely able to work put a financial burden on me. Thanks to Warriors of Hope for relieving some of the financial stress I am experiencing. This has been a big blessing. Thank God!

Mrs. Claudia
I'm a resident of Houma and 34 years old. I am battling Stage 2 triple positive breast cancer. I was diagnosed in March 2023. I really appreciate Warriors of Hope's help. I pray God keep me and everyone else protected.

Mrs. Gray
I'm so glad I reached out to Mrs. Teri with Warriors of Hope. In 2021 I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I underwent chemo, radiation, immunotherapy and surgery. Presently I have been diagnosed with a recurrence of this cancer. The medical bills and traveling back and forth to Dr. appointments have gotten expensive. I really appreciate the help that Warriors of Hope is giving me.

Ms. Deverau
On June 12, 2023 I was diagnosed with IDC breast cancer. My world was turned upside down. In August I had a lumpectomy operation. In September I had a revision and axillary nodes removal. I have been out of work for several months now. I now go to radiation and physical therapy. I am still unable to work. It was such a blessing that Warriors of Hope was able to help me cover bills while I finish treatment. With their help I am able to rest my worries and focus on healing. I truly appreciate the help. Thank you so much!

Mr. Clement
On August 21, having evacuated to Florida, to my daughter's house, my symptoms for multiple myeloma first appeared. My chemo is for controlling my cancer. After 1 1/2 years of chemo, I started a new chemo medication. My co-pay is now very expensive. Teri was very helpful in getting me a grant to help pay my expenses. Since starting chemo I have been diagnosed with bladder cancer also. The Warriors of Hope grant is very much appreciated to help me pay for my cancer treatment. Thanks Teri and Warriors of Hope.

Mrs. Melanie
Warriors of Hope is a blessing. They make sure you are taken care of to lighten your load while going through treatments and relieving stress so you can heal without worrying about financial issues.
Thank God for such a blessing.

Mrs. Sandra
I had an appointment at Mary Bird Perkins in Houma on March 10th. I thought, "Thank God I get my port out and will be cancer free". Little did I know the results would be that I need to have more tests. The cancer had spread to my brain and we needed to do tests as soon as possible. Worrying about the cancer wasn't my first thought. It was where I would I get the money to do the test, which was $175 and more for the co-pay. I knew I couldn't afford it. Before I could make it home, I received a call from Mrs. Teri of Warriors of Hope offering me help to pay for it. Having cancer return was a bad blow, but this help made it better. I appreciate what Warriors of Hope has done by taking this burden off of me. I thank her and the organization. God Bless you for helping me and others. Thank You!

Mrs. Martha
In December 2022, I was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer with multiple bones in my body being affected. This is my third cancer diagnosis in my lifetime at the age of 74. I currently live with my grandson and his wife. They have been supporting me emotionally and financially to the best of their abilities. I've always known that God and my family would support me through; but, you and I both know that the extra expenses are impossible to meet at times. I had to have dental work done prior to some of my cancer treatments, and insurance wouldn't cover all the costs. We were informed about Warriors of Hope by staff at the hospital. Warriors of Hope has generously offered to help cover the remaining costs of my dental work, so that I may proceed with my treatments for the cancer. I'm so deeply grateful for the support. If you're thinking this is an accolade to them, then you're exactly right. They've helped me tremendously. If you're thinking I'm asking you to give to this organization, then you're right again. If you have anything to give, I hope that you will. I know it would be appreciated and used wisely.

In April 2023, my husband Jeff was diagnosed with cancer in the esophagus. There have been so many expenses from doctors and tests they have done. I'm so happy to have been told about Warriors of Hope. After speaking with Mrs. Teri, she has given us some hope to help with extra expenses. We do not know how we could do this without the help from Warriors of Hope

Mrs. Tamra
Warriors of Hope, thank you so much for your generous donation to help with my medical bills. I speak for all cancer patients that your donation also helps us have a positive frame of mind knowing we are not alone in this most terrifying journey. God has sent His angels to help. My journey began December 2021. It was then when I was jolted to reality on how many people, old and young, have cancer here in Houma. My last round of chemo infusion is April 12th. I'm considered cancer free now but this journey will continue for 10 years of medical testing and a chemo pill. Cancer treatment is not only medical cost. My cancer treatment left me with heart failure and osteoporosis which I did not have before. I am very grateful to be alive. Thank you Warriors of Hope and donors for making this journey a little easier.

In December of 2022 I was diagnosed with tumors up and down my spinal cord but we didn't know what it was. The doctors sent me to West Jefferson in Marrero. They said that I needed surgery, so they scheduled it for Friday, which was 2 days away. They were able to get 3/4 of the biggest one but it was too intertwined in my nerves. They didn't want to chance further damage so they stopped. I had to spend a week in the hospital. Finally I got diagnosed with Myxopapillary Ependymoma. When I finally went home I was still in and out of doctors offices and getting set up for radiation. Unable to work with 3 kids, the bills started getting behind. I was introduced to Teri with Warriors of Hope. They helped me out so much. It was truly a blessing in dark times. I'm so grateful for their help in my time of need!

Mr. Charles
In December of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer. I was shocked and concerned about how I was going to afford the financial burden that would be put on me and my family at this time. I just turned 80 years old. I was very fortunate to be introduced to Teri with Warriors of Hope. Thanks to their compassionate efforts, some of the burden has been lifted. God Bless!

Mr. Bourg
Warriors of Hope, I would like to thank you for what you are doing to help me out. It would have been very hard for me without your help. I appreciate everything that you are doing. I am very grateful I found out about your organization.

Gloria
I would like to thank Warriors of Hope. I really appreciate what they are doing to help me. I don't know what I would have done without their help. I think they are very gracious people and I am really glad that I found out about them.

Tammy and Byron
Warriors of Hope is exactly that- Warriors of Hope. Thank you Teri for taking your personal pain and using it to help others. We were so stressed about how to get Byron's imaging paid for. Warriors of Hope shouldered that burden for us. You are very appreciated.

Christy B
I was diagnosed with Stage 2B breast cancer March of 2022. It was a total shock! I have finished chemo treatment and had a double mastectomy in October 2022. I am currently doing radiation treatment. I've known Derrick for a long time through family, but I never knew Teri. I believe God put her in my life for a reason. I have health insurance, and while it does pay for treatments and such, it does not pay for time and wages lost when you're sick from treatment and can't get it together. Teri helped me when I fell short and I will always be grateful to her and Warriors of Hope.

Mr. and Mrs. Heims
Warriors of Hope was very helpful to us. We made a phone call to Teri, but were told there were no grants available at the moment. She said she would put us on the waitlist. Honestly, I thought we were forgotten. Some time goes by and we receive a call from her stating funds were made available to assist us. The call could not have come at a better time. Thank you Warriors of Hope and Teri. May God Bless You!

Mr. Randy and Mrs. Susan
In April 2022, my husband Randy was diagnosed with non-operable Stage 4-A tongue and neck cancer. We had medical expenses from procedures he had done. By God's grace, Warriors of Hope was able to give us a grant to help with those expenses. We appreciate all that Warriors of Hope has done for us and Teri for creating this amazing foundation in memory of the loss of her son Brock.

Mrs. Alexandria

"And the darkest hour is just before dawn."

Life does not slow down for anyone, nor does it pick favorites. In 2018, I lost both of my parents. During the summer of 2019, I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometrial cancer. Thanks to an amazing team of doctors, we were able to remove the majority of tumors and begin chemo. It has been an uphill, downhill, and sometimes in-between battle since then. It has also been a never ending battle as well due to Stage 4 being a lifelong battle. My body finally found something it could work with: Keytruda. Unfortunately, cancer is not the only battle I am waging. In addition to having cancer, I am also a single mother with 3 teens still living at home. I have recently lost my job as a teacher due to the position being cut, and I found myself struggling to make "ends" meet. This is where Warriors of Hope came in to provide the string to tie my ends together. While my battle, both health and financial, is far from being done, Warriors of Hope's generosity and kindness is what is needed to help my family and me keep on fighting. There are no words that can adequately describe the amount of gratitude that I am feeling at this moment.

In December 2021, I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. As I had just retired, what a burden that put on my financial situation. When I got a call from Warriors of Hope it was such a blessing. Thanks to Teri from Warriors of Hope. I was able to tell my story and very grateful for some financial relief.

At times as we are in, GAS prices soaring and costs of basic needs over-inflated, I am in the midst of battling breast cancer. During these times after the huge surge of Covid, I was worried how I would afford to travel for radiation therapy. Well, all Glory to God, a patient navigator told us of Warriors of Hope!! I gratefully submitted an application and I met a true earth angel, Ms. Teri! I am joyful that I was approved for the gracious grant!! God works in mysterious ways and Ms. Teri will always have my prayers beneath her wings.

Lydell C

My name is Lydell, age 64. I was diagnosed with stage 3 stomach cancer. The emotional, physical, and financial impact hit hard. I've been through surgeries and 3 rounds of chemo with more to come. The social worker from Terrebonne General contacted me about an organization called Warriors of Hope. I applied online, very quickly a very kind lady named Teri called me back. She asked what my financial needs were and when we could meet. She is truly an angel sent to me. Thank you Warriors of Hope.

Edgard B

I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer at age 80. I'm retired and my wife is retired so we are on a fixed income. The Cancer Institute of Thibodaux told us about Warriors of Hope. Teri contacted us 5 minutes after we submitted our application. Such a blessing and relief for me during this time. Thank you Warriors of Hope and Teri for being there during my time of financial need during this time of hardship in my life. I'm forever greatly for the supporters and volunteers of Warriors of Hope.

In August of 2021, I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. As a single working mother, the financial impact of this diagnosis was as devastating as the disease itself. While I am very lucky and still able to work most days, the insurance deductibles and co-pays added up very quickly. I came across the Warriors of Hope Facebook page and applied for assistance on their website. Mrs. Teri called me right away and I was able to tell her my story and immediate needs. This organization is exactly what a cancer patient needs, financial assistance. I am and will forever be grateful for their help in my time of need.

Earnest L

Things literally hit me almost all at once. I was diagnosed with high-blood pressure, diabetes and cancer all within a 2 month time frame. With all the doctor visits and chemo treatments, I was missing more and more days off work. I was using my vacation days to try and balance out the days that I was off, but eventually vacation days run out. That didn’t stop my bills from coming in, though. Then, one of the nurses at the cancer center told me about Warriors of Hope. The great work that they are doing helped me to offset some of my expenses so that I could try toget things back on track financially. Thank you, Warriors of Hope for the great assist that you gave me and many others like me who are facing hardships during these times in our lives. I truly appreciate everything.

Sheri G

I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma at the age of 43. You never think it'll happen to you until it does. Teri and I have been friends for a couple years and while we were visiting, we started talking about all the things that come along with a diagnosis. She knows firsthand the emotional, physical and financial aspects of dealing with cancer. I commented how quickly medical bills started coming in and she immediately came to my rescue. I can't thank the supporters, volunteers and founder of Warriors of Hope enough for their generous contributions for people in need. This organization truly gives hope!

Donovan C

My name is Donovan and I want to thank Warriors of Hope for helping me at a time I needed it most. I called them and immediately they setup an appointment for us to meet. Ms. Teri has sucha great spirit and I felt comfortable explaining my situation. I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and with chemo, doctor appointments, scans, etc. I lost a lot of time at work. Warriors of Hope was able to help me financially and I am truly grateful

On January 7, 2022, I met an angel named Teri from an organization called Warriors of Hope. I've been going through chemotherapy and didn't know how I was going to pay my bills. I called the Coordinator at The Cancer Institute of Thibodaux, and she connected me with Warriors of Hope. I was told I was the first person who reached out this organization for help. What an awesome God we serve!! It was all a part of His plan. If you or anyone you know are dealing with cancer and need financial assistance, please contact Warriors of Hope. You will be glad you did!
